Rumor: X-Men TV Series On Its Way From Fox

Rumors of the mutant kind are evolving into one whopper of a story over at Twentieth Century Fox. Yes, the studio that’s already brought you Gotham every Monday night might, might, be making an X-Men TV series that’d give even Professor X a migraine of possibilities.

The news comes to us courtesy of the whirlpool or rumors now circulating at Bleeding Cool News and wherever they’re making they’re way these days on the Internet. According to them, an X-Men series is already “deep in development” over at Fox. If true, it would introduce the very first live-action X-Men ever to air since John Shea’s short-lived “Generation X” series.

The studio has notably considered a possible spin-off film based on the “X-Force” comic series following its release of the acclaimed “X-Men: Days of Future Past earlier this summer.

It’s unknown just who would star in such a series if the rumor holds water, but such a show would undoubtedly be too huge to ignore, either by Fox or by fans. The studio currently has its hands full with its own DC show, Gotham, following a young Commissioner Gordon and Batman in a slowly decaying Gotham City.

In the meantime, director Bryan Singer has his hands full bringing an apocalypse to the X-men universe and we’ll just have to wait for a confirmation from Fox as we dream up Patrick Steward returning to television minus his number one.

But what should such a show be called? X-Caliber? The League of X-traordinary People? The X-Factor (minus Simon Cowell)? Tell us in the comments below!
