When you think PS3 you think Fat and Slim. Now what do you think if I said how about a slimmer of the slim? Details found in a document reveal a new PS3 4000 series. Not to much more is known but we are hoping to hear an announcement on it at GamesCon next month in Germany.
During E3 when the question was asked to Shuhei Yoshida about this, he never ruled out the idea. He just had this to say.
“We haven’t announced anything new on PS3 in terms of hardware revisions. We should never say never – hardware guys are always looking at ways to make things cheaper, smaller.”
Sony has had the press coming down on them for a while with the fact that we are expecting to see a new system by next year. Releasing a new PS3 model doesn’t seem like a great idea unless they’re planning on selling this at a cheaper price then their current PS3 model. Anyone on the fence right now would be waiting on a next gen console so I wouldn’t expect this to be a big deal if announced.
