Assassin’s Creed may be worlds apart this year, but it won’t be letting down last-gen console owners. This year, you’ll finally be hunting your former allies through a different pair of eyes.

In France we have Arno Dorian, a French revolutionary and Assassin thirsty for revenge and, along the way, falling in love with a Templar named Elise admits one of the world’s most violent upheavals.

In the New World, we have Shay Patrick Cormac, an assassin-turned-templar bent on hunting his former order’s members while sailing the Atlantic in the name of the British.

If there’s one thing both men share, it’s France’s most famous wars at home and abroad. Shay will be setting sail through the North Atlantic amidst the country’s infamous Seven Year’s War of which America’s French and Indian War was a part of.

Now Ubisoft has shared with us some of his latest tricks on the frozen waters.

Picking up where Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag left off, Assassin’s Creed Rogue brings its own navel gameplay onto the scene that its land lubbers in Unity don’t.

At first glance, Shay’s ship might seem quite familiar to those who played Edward Kenway’s adventures. Shay can be seen with Edward’s son, Haytham, who would go onto father Connor Kenway, Assassin’s Creed III‘s lead protagonist. The merry sound of twenty new sea shanties will accompany your voyage this time around along with Black Flag’s sailing mechanics and familiar HUD.

Naval gameplay returns to play a part in Shay’s sea-savvy hand, with ships to loot and forts to raid. Unlike Black Flag, you’ll be ramming more than enemy flotillas. Icebergs are destructible via your ship’s ram or flying cannon balls and may hold a frozen shipwreck full of treasure chests and the “Templar keys” to unlock them. Mind you step (and the polar bears).

If the ice and rocky seas don’t sink your ship, then their resident Assassins adrift in your sight might, though. The North Atlantic passages offer a wealth of Assassin led ships to board and pillage. You’ll also set out to rescue your fellow Templars imprisoned onboard the Assassin seaside communities play host to a variety of side quests.

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue weighs anchor November 11th on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, while Unity ignites its revolution October 28th on Playstation 4, Windows for PC, and Xbox One.

Tell us: Which game are you picking up? Rogue? Unity? Both?
