SNK, a company that’s been on the uptrend lately. The King of Fighters XV has been getting tons of traction for its content, but what about the other fighting game that SNK usually makes, being Samurai Shodown? Well, that’s exactly what we’re here to talk about, as they’ve received a new DLC character trailer.
Previously, we covered the Season 3 announcement for Samurai Shodown, and since, the game was also released on Steam. And today’s DLC character is none other than Baiken, from the Guilty Gear series. Baiken’s currently absent from Guilty Gear Strive, but she was the last DLC character in the previous game, Xrd REV.2. You can view Baiken’s crossover trailer below.
Baiken’s Tools And Kit
Baiken makes the jump to Samurai Shodown sporting her costume from Guilty Gear Xrd REV.2, and most of her moves as well, from the looks of it. A lot of her normals don’t have the free-flowing combo structure of Xrd, however, due to the way Samurai Shodown’s fighting system works. Most of her special moves are functionally the same between the games, with her command dash having partial guardpoint as well as all of its respective followups, and having all of her counters, as well.
Baiken also got a release date in this trailer, as well. She will be releasing on August 19th, three days from now (as of the time of writing. Season Pass 3 holders will get her immediately upon updating the game, and purchasing Baiken individually will also be available.
Samurai Shodown is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
