Games-publisher Sega has just announced it will implement a number of reforms to improve profitability. It has positioned Digital Games, a sector containing smartphone and online PC titles, as its main area of growth.

The reforms also include a reduction in staff. Sega is offering voluntary redundancy to 300 staff involved in its publishing business. Development teams such as Creative Assembly will be mostly untouched. The company plans to move its US headquarters from San Francisco to Southern California in an attempt to save money.

Sega predicts that it will still make a profit in 2015, albeit a much smaller one than last year.
