Scuttle Town’s Half Genie guardian Shantae is coming to the Nintendo Switch in Shantae: Half Genie Hero this summer after the adventure’s release last year.
WayForward announced the Switch version on Twitter Thursday and confirmed that “You can feel the beat” with the Joy-cons’ HD Rumble feature.
Half Genie Hero is the first title in the series that is realized in HD. It still retains its hand drawn 2D visual style and has 2.5D platforming. Risky Boots once again is causing trouble in the world of Sequin Land as she plans to steal a dangerous source of power.
On the topic of Risky Boots, Shantae: Half Genie Hero has DLC scheduled to come out this summer and you will be able to play as the villain and search for components to destroy Sequin Land. This DLC will have new puzzles, new enemies, and a new end-boss. It will also have similarities to Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse in terms of its gameplay as Risky Boots unlocks new equipment like the Pirate Hat for gliding. Backers who pledged $55 or more will also be getting an exclusive character, Tinkerbat, which should be rolling out soon, according to WayForward.
