Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day Out Now

shortpeace_bagogamesYesterday, Bandai Namco Games Europe released Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day in Australia and Europe.  The game is part of a larger piece of work called Short Peace. As a four part-animated film by manga artist and Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo, Short Peace brings film and video games together as a “cross-media experience”.  The last part of Short Peace is Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day. The side-scrolling adventure game has been directed by famed video game director Suda 51. During the course of gameplay, players will follow a hero who leads a double-life of sorts,  “an average girl by day and a deadly assassin by night,” according to Bandai Namco.

“For the first time in video game history, Bandai Namco Games Europe is pleased to bring to players this tremendous cross-media experience,” said Herve Hoerdt, vice president of IP strategy at Bandai Namco Games Europe. “We hope that players will enjoy discovering the unique and mesmerizing universe of Short Peace as much as the directors behind this gigantic project enjoyed creating it. Short Peace is the proof that only the video game medium can generate experiences very deep yet exciting at the same time.”

There has been no official word from Bandai Namco Games Europe if they plan to release the game in other territories.
