<p>It is almost unanimous that <em>Breath of the Wild</em> is already a top contender for game of the year. Its freedom in exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving has set a new precedent for the series. However, in order to allow all of this freedom, Nintendo had to ditch some of the trademarks that made fans originally fall in love the series.</p>
<p>While some of the changes have been widely accepted, some of the most memorable aspects of the series are missing in their latest installment. Has Nintendo gone too far by changing one of the most iconic gaming series too much? Or perhaps this change is wanted and needed by fans and newcomers.
