Silent Hill HD Collection Removes Controversial Scene

Silent Hill HD Collection made its way to shelves last Tuesday with quite a bit of fan-fueled controversy with it. Those who played Silent Hill 2 will remember the scene when James Sunderland encounters a Pyramid Head raping two female torsos, before hiding in a closet. This scene is left out in the high-definition remaster, and is seen by fans as one of many problems with the remake.

As a fan of the original two Silent Hill games I am a little upset with this removal. Silent Hill 2 specialized in horror that didn’t scare you, but horrified you. It was praised for that horror and the taboo topics it presented, with this scene being an example of that.

Has the growth of the industry in the last decade led to companies such as Konami censoring their own games, or what it something that they thought never should have existed? And what does this mean for games in the future? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
