Silent Hill Soundtrack Getting the Mondo Treatment for Vinyl Release

Vinyl fans rejoice as you can now have your record player make the creepiest of sounds with the Silent Hill soundtrackMondo announced today that the original game’s soundtrack will be released as a double LP on 180 gram “Snow Fall” vinyl. It will be clear with heavy white splatter on it, which is a fancy way of saying that it will probably look really nice. Pre-orders begin Wednesday April 11th, at noon CST and will cost $30 USD. Take a look at the artwork and vinyl below:

The artwork for the sleeve is done by Sam Wolfe Connelly, who has done artwork for previous Mondo vinyl releases before, including their release of Black Swan. The cover does a pretty good job evoking the darkness and solitude of the game, which is only made more palpable by the soundtrack itself. Eerie doesn’t even begin to describe the 1999 PlayStation title’s score, which swaps between somber and oppressive with industrial tones and that incredible title theme.

This is not the first video game vinyl release that Mondo has handled, either. They have been releasing several different Castlevania soundtracks on LP, as well as former Konami employee, Hideo Kojima’s Death Strandingwhich includes two songs from Low Roar that were featured in the two trailers released so far. Let us know in the comments below whether you’ll be picking up the soundtrack Wednesday.
