<p>PlayStation 2 survival horror <em>Siren </em>is set to be digitally released as a PS2 Classic on the North American PlayStation Store on Tuesday, January 15th.</p>
<p>Developed by SCE Japan Studios development team Project Siren was originally released in 2003, <em>Siren</em> is a bleak and challenging survival horror with a distinctly Japanese flavor being set in a small Japanese mountain village which becomes trapped in a literal sea of blood and whose inhabitants transform into deranged and murderous beings known as &#8220;shibito&#8221;. The game focuses on stealth and patience and also introduced the innovative &#8220;sightjack&#8221; ability, which allows the player to see through the eyes of nearby enemies.</p>
<p>Known as <em>Forbidden Siren </em>in Europe, the game spawned a sequel on the PS2 and then a remake on the PS3 in the form of the underrated <em>Siren: Blood Curse</em>.</p>
<p>There is no word yet on whether <em>Forbidden Siren</em> will appear as a PS2 Classic in the EU.</p>
