Skyrim Dawnguard DLC Information

DLC for the RPG adventure is on the way in the form of the first DLC pack, Dawnguard, which had a reveal trailer released very recently. It’s looking to be ‘packed’ indeed and will set you 360 users back a cool 1600MS points when it comes out this summer. For PS3 and PC owners itching to play this, you’ll unfortunately have to wait a few months for its release via those platforms. Bummer. Patience is a virtue though, right?

In the meantime, feast your eyes upon these new details which have been unearthed. The story revolves around a vampire by the name of Harkon who must be stopped by the Dawnguard before he uses the power of the Elder Scrolls.

Players will be allowed to choose which team they’ll side with. You can either become a noble and brave member of the Dawnguard, or a fearsome, non-sparkly vampire. Choosing to become a part of the elite Dawnguard will grant you access to Fort Dawnguard and a cross-bow as well as more vampire-slaying goodies. Those who side with the blood-sucking vampires will be able to access Castle Volkihar and receive all sorts of power boosts and potions. You’ll also be able to gain the transformation of the Vampire Lord which will carry with it its own skill tree to allow players to develop upon powers along the way.

For all you werewolves from the Skyrim title however, there will be a new skill tree available to allow you to upgrade powers too. Obtaining new skills will have to be done in the forms previously mentioned.

New locations, dragons and dragon shouts will packed into the DLC.  Here’s a rundown of the info, as seen on Gamekicker:

– Two factions: the vampires and the vampire hunters—the Dawnguard. You can join either.

– New homes: Castle Volkihar or Fort Dawnguard.

– New powers and items: Joining the Dawnguard gives you crossbows, weapons and armor, while joining the vampires gets you blood potions and new vampiric powers.

– New skill tree: Vampire Lord.

– You can only choose to be a vampire or a werewolf. You can’t be both.

– Vampire and werewolf skill trees can be leveled up while in those forms to unlock new skills. It is separate from leveling up regularly.

– New enemies to fight, including legendary dragons.

– New locations, including Oblivion.

– Archery skills are applicable for use with crossbows.

– A new character in the Ratway allows you to have a makeover of your face.

– Dawnguard is designed for characters past level 10.

– New Dragon shouts that can only be found in Dawnguard.

I wonder if any new arrow memes will spawn from this DLC…
