Smite: Battlegrounds of the Gods is Heading to PS4

<p><em>Smite<&sol;em> is one of the most popular MOBAs on the market&comma; and it has just been <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;blog&period;us&period;playstation&period;com&sol;2016&sol;02&sol;19&sol;smite-battleground-of-the-gods-coming-to-ps4&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">announced<&sol;a> that it is coming to the PS4&period; The game&comma; developed by Hi-Rez Studios&comma; has been out for some time on PC and since last summer on Xbox One&comma; and they have cited &&num;8220&semi;<a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;smitegame&period;com&sol;ps4-faq&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">frequent requests by the community<&sol;a>&&num;8221&semi; as reasoning behind the upcoming release&period; In a <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;smitegame&period;com&sol;smite-coming-to-ps4&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">post<&sol;a> today on the games site they revealed that closed alpha testing was beginning today&comma; with a closed beta to launch in March&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>For those unfamiliar with the game&comma; <em>Smite<&sol;em> runs like many traditional MOBAs&comma; where teams of players controlling mythical gods face off against each other in a variety of modes&period; Where other MOBAs like <em>DOTA<&sol;em> and <em>League of Legends<&sol;em> have top-down views&comma; <em>Smite<&sol;em> has been different in that it has a camera situated behind the players character&comma; the influence being seen in upcoming MOBAs like <em>Battleborn<&sol;em> and <em>Overwatch<&sol;em>&period; This style of control makes it ideal for consoles according to the developers&comma; and part of why it will finally be coming to PS4&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;99965" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-99965" style&equals;"width&colon; 1023px" class&equals;"wp-caption aligncenter"><img class&equals;"wp-image-99965 size-full" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;cdn&period;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2016&sol;02&sol;03235033&sol;Screen-Shot-2016-02-19-at-4&period;17&period;06-PM&period;png" alt&equals;"PS4 screen&comma; Playstation Blog" width&equals;"1023" height&equals;"576" &sol;><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-99965" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">Smite&comma; Hi-Rez Studios<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p><em>Smite<&sol;em> is a free-to-play game&comma; where there are certain free characters available to players&comma; and a rotating selection of other characters available to use&comma; or which can be unlocked via payment&period; The developers posted that the PS4 version will come with some exclusive character skins when the beta launches&comma; unlocked from doing a variety of things such as linking your PS4 account with your Hi-Rez PC account&comma; or by purchasing the Founder&&num;8217&semi;s Pack&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The <em>Smite<&sol;em> Founder&&num;8217&semi;s Pack will be available during the beta period for &dollar;29&period;99 on the PSN Store&comma; and with the purchase you unlock all present and future gods in the game&comma; 400 gems&comma; an Ares &&num;8220&semi;Soldier of Fortune&&num;8221&semi; skin and immediate beta access&period; Again if you want to opt-in for a chance to try the beta&comma; you can do so <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;smitegame&period;com&sol;ps4-beta&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">here<&sol;a>&period; <em>Smite<&sol;em> has a global community of 14 million players and it is looking like things will continue to heat up once the game launches on PS4&comma; in the near future&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
