Sega has announced that a new entry in the Sonic franchise is coming soon although it can be questioned whether it is a ‘title’ among fans as it is an endless runner for iOS devices.
Through the Sega Blog, “Sonic Dash” has been announced and will be an “agile, endless, running mobile game” for pretty much all iOS devices through Apple’s App Store. Although no pricing or concrete release date was confirmed in the blog post Sega did say that they would release further information in the future.
It seems that the game will include 3D visuals through familiar Sonic stages and as you’ll be “[navigating] over, around and through interminable dangers” we assume you’ll be swiping up to jump, down to spin roll and perhaps the game will change view to allow you to move left and right similar to other 3D Sonic games whilst Sonic obviously moves on his own.
Whilst none of the above was confirmed to be fact (it is just our interpretation) Sega did confirm that you will be able to “challenge your friends” whilst also “compete on leaderboards”.
