Sony still behind competitors in console race

<p>Sony have announced the latest figure regarding how many PlayStation 3 consoles they have shipped to stores worldwide&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>As of 4th November 2012&comma; Sony reached the amazing milestone of 70 million consoles within the six year period since it originally launched in November 2006&period; Whilst this figure is pretty amazing considering you had to remortgage your house to buy one at launch it is still behind Microsoft&&num;8217&semi;s Xbox 360 and Nintendo&&num;8217&semi;s Wii&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>As of September 2012&comma; Microsoft had sold 70 million Xbox 360 consoles so we can assume that that figure has increased a lot since due to reasons such as Halo 4 being launched earlier this month&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Nintendo Wii however has sold 97&period;18 million units&comma; clearly destroying the competition&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>How many of the &&num;8220&semi;current-gen&&num;8221&semi; consoles do you own&quest;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&lbrack;Source&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;eurogamer&period;net&sol;articles&sol;2012-11-16-playstation-3-hits-70-million-units-shipped-worldwide-mark-six-years-after-launch">Eurogamer<&sol;a>&rsqb;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
