Looks like maybe PlayStation’s Europe twitter account spilled the beans as to when the next PlayStation 4 update will drop. According to the tweet, PS4 Firmware update 1.70 will be released on April 30th.
Features that will be included in the 1.70 release are the new ShareFactory video editor app, the option to remove HDCP video signal copyright protection, and the ability to save screenshots and videos to USB drives.
In previous news stories about this firmware update, it has been mentioned that Sony was toying with the idea to let consumers pre-load games that have been pre-ordered through the PlayStation Network store. The tweet from earlier did not confirm one way or the other if this “pre-load” functionality will be included in the update or not. The tweet did say that there would be more news soon.
