Let the sword fighting commence. Namco Bandai has officially announced Soul Calibur V. It should be hitting stores sometime next year and will be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Soul Calibur V will take us 17 years into the future from the events of Soul Calibur IV, and will follow the exploits of Patroklos, a young hero whose destiny “intertwines with the soul swords.”

We should learn more details about the game in the coming weeks and months. Namco has promised that more will be revealed when the game is previewed at this year’s upcoming E3 conference. Until then, check out the Soul Calibur V teaser trailer they released with the announcement below.
