Square Enix Announces Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition, Windows Edition

Square Enix has announced two new editions for Final Fantasy XV; namely the Royal Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and Windows Edition for PC. However, while it seems like the two editions are separate, they’re both near identical. The only major differences between the two are system requirements.

Square Enix has also released a trailer for the new editions, which you can see above. The new features, which are identical in both the Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition and Windows Edition, are:

On top of this, both versions also include season pass content and some new quests. As a result of the extra content, new trophies are also available. Additional local myths and legends will also be placed in various new locations. The PC version also gets native 4K (max 8K resolution), HDR10, Dolby Atmos and mod support.

Square Enix also announced benchmark tool and instructions to help players optimize their PCs for the game’s launch. This is set to go live on February 1. Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition and Windows Edition will be released on March 6. Currently, it is set to be available on Steam, Origin, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Starting February 1, fans who pre-order the PC version will receive store-specific pre-order and early purchase bonuses.
