Star Trek 3 Could Reunite Shatner and Nimoy

<p>Director <strong>Robert Orci<&sol;strong> recently dropped out of the <em><strong>Power Rangers<&sol;strong><&sol;em> movie to focus on <strong><em>Star Trek 3<&sol;em><&sol;strong> and it appears he has some big plans&period; Specifically&comma; Orci wants <strong>William Shatner<&sol;strong> and <strong>Leonard Nimoy<&sol;strong> to reprise their roles as <strong>Kirk<&sol;strong> and <strong>Spock<&sol;strong> for the latest <strong>Star Trek<&sol;strong> movie&period; Shatner was originally written to have a cameo in 2009&&num;8217&semi;s <em><strong>Star Trek<&sol;strong><&sol;em> that Orci co-wrote&comma; but it never came to be for which Shatner was very vocal about being turned down from&period; Now it appears the current script will include a scene between the original duo&period; Of course&comma; the film is still in the writing stage and has a good six months before shooting in which anything could be rewritten&period; If true&comma; however&comma; it would be the first time the two have shared the big screen since 1991&&num;8217&semi;s <em><strong>Star Trek VI&colon; The Undiscovered Country<&sol;strong><&sol;em>&period; It would also mean that Nimoy will have had a cameo role in all three of the new <em><strong>Trek<&sol;strong> <&sol;em>films&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>And&comma; of course&comma; this all depends if <strong>Shatner<&sol;strong> and <strong>Nimoy<&sol;strong> actually agree to the cameo roles&period; So at the moment this is still a big &&num;8220&semi;if&&num;8221&semi;&comma; but a tantalizing one none the less&period; The first thing that comes to mind is how <strong>Kirk<&sol;strong> could still be alive after he was killed in 1994&&num;8217&semi;s <strong><em>Star Trek&colon; Generations<&sol;em><&sol;strong>&period; Who knows&comma; they may find some strange way to bring him into the fold as the series doesn&&num;8217&semi;t seem bound by many restrictions&period; One strange thing to ponder is that if this comes to pass&comma; <strong>Shatner<&sol;strong> will have appeared in multiple generations of <em><strong>Trek<&sol;strong> <&sol;em>films&period; As much as I&&num;8217&semi;d like to see this new series go off in its own direction separate from the references and relations to the original movies&comma; I have to admit that seeing <strong>Shatner<&sol;strong> and <strong>Nimoy<&sol;strong> together again in their iconic roles is making my inner geek scream with joy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;badassdigest&period;com&sol;2014&sol;09&sol;22&sol;theres-a-part-for-william-shatner-in-star-trek-3&sol;">BadAssDigest<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
