Star Wars Battlefront Will Make Its Gameplay Debut At E3 2015

In an open letter towards the Star Wars fans, Niklas Fegraeus from the DICE team confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront will be making its gameplay debut at E3 2015 on June 15th.

The design director behind Star Wars Battlefront in this letter named “Dear Galaxy,” explained the new features that this reboot will have and gave development notes as well as confirming the game’s gameplay debut at E3 2015.

Fegraeus explained that Petter Sköld, a Senior Level Artist on Star Wars Battlefront, collects lightsaber parts and creates replicas from them for his collection. He also mentions that the reason why they rebooted the series rather than making a sequel is because they “want to pay homage to this beloved franchise, while making [their] own stamp for a new generation.” An example of this would be the capability to switch from 1st person to 3rd person while having completely new modes and new maps.

One new mode is called Fighter Squadron, which has “huge Starfighter battles over canyons.” DICE have also added missions to the game, which can be played alone or co-operatively, having players “take on armies of AI or test their piloting skills.”

Star Wars Battlefront is scheduled to release on November 17th in North America and November 20th in Europe for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
