Star Wars Episode VII Cast Announced

Disney has at long last revealed the official cast from the upcoming film Star Wars Episode VII.  It seems that most of the rumours we posted yesterday have turned out to be correct. Mark Hamil, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher will definitely be returning to play Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia respectively. Anthony Daniel’s C-3PO, Kenny Baker’s R2-D2 and Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca are also confirmed to be returning. The only rumoured character which is still missing is Lando Calrissian, who was played by Billy Dee Wiliams in Episode V and Episode VI.

On the other hand our rumours on the new cast have proved to be spot on. John Boyega from Attack the Block and Oscar Issac from Inside Llewyn Davis  have indeed won lead roles in the film. They will be joined by Adam Diver from Girls, veteran actor Max Von Sydow and the young British actress Daisy Ridley. Domhnall Gleeson who played Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter movies and Andy Serkis who played Gollum in Lord of the Rings will also star in Episode VII. New information about the cast continues to be revealed so we’ll keep this page updated as we learn more.
