Blizzard Entertainment has released the launch trailer for the final expansion in the StarCraft series, StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void.
In the game, Kerrigan and the Zerg swarm are missing, and Jim Raynor is occupied rebuilding the war-torn civilization. So it’s up to the Protoss and their greatest living heroes, Artanis and Zeratul, to bring peace to the galaxy. It’s the player’s job to unite the Protoss, help them take back their homeworld, rid the universe of the ancient evil of Amon, and ultimately decide the fate of Kerrigan, Raynor, and others.
StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is a standalone experience which players will be able to dive right into regardless of whether they’ve played Heart of the Swarm or Wings of Liberty.
The game will also feature a new Archon Mode. This mode will allow a two-player cooperative experience which will involve both players sharing control over a single base and army. This will allow both players to concentrate on their own areas of battle to execute intricate strategies.
In addition to this mode, StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void will also feature co-op missions which will allow players to take the role of legendary heroes of the StarCraft series in order to team-up and battle through campaign-like scenarios together.
Legacy of the Void will also have new unit options for the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg, as well as new abilities for existing units.
There has also been a host of new multiplayer maps and tilesets added, which will bring battle to every corner of the Koprulu Sector.
StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is set to release on the 10th of this month.
