The Steam Deck is well on its way to being a legitimate competitior to the Nintendo Switch. Previously, the console was announced, and as it stands right now, early reservations are sold out between now through part of 2022. For those unaware, the Steam Deck is meant to be a means to take your Steam Library on the go in a small, convenient package (albeit pricey).
The Steam Deck also is meant to be compatible with most of Steam’s games, though games like Final Fantasy XIV might be exceptions to this. Games on the Steam Deck are why we’re here to begin with, as a matter of fact, as the first case of a developer showing support for the upcoming peripheral has come around.
Steam Deck’s Developer Support
It begins with a new indie title coming this coming February from Sea Monster Games, known as Dexter Stardust: Adventures in Outer Space. You can view their release date message below.

Dexter Stardust: Adventures in Outer Space is a point and click adventure game similar to games like Capcom’s Ace Attorney series. But going beyond that, you can clearly see that not only are they releasing the game on Steam and Nintendo Switch. If you look closely, you can see a fourth icon, resembling the Steam Deck, to the right of the Nintendo Switch icon.
So, what could this mean for the upcoming Steam Deck? It could probably be something like having two versions of the game available, similar to when The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released (it had a version for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch).
