<p>Steam&#8217;s Summer Sale may be over for another year but statistics released by Valve has shown that it was a bug success. On Sunday June 29 the service reached 8 million concurrent users for the first time in it&#8217;s history. Valve have also revealed the top 10 games being played on Steam and their peak user count. They are:</p>

<li>Dota 2 &#8211; 775,279</li>
<li>Counter-Strike: Global Offensive &#8211; 163,421</li>
<li>Team Fortress 2 &#8211; 78,227</li>
<li>Civilization V &#8211; 73,866</li>
<li>Football Manager 2014 &#8211; 71,083</li>
<li>Garry’s Mod &#8211; 64,383</li>
<li>The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim &#8211; 64,281</li>
<li>Payday 2 &#8211; 63,814</li>
<li>Borderlands 2 &#8211; 34,020</li>
<li>Counter-Strike &#8211; 31,730</li>
</ol>
<p>Its not surprising that Dota 2 is on top. Not only is the game free to play but the Dota 2 championships, known as The International, are also coming up.</p>
<p>Overall Steam has 75 million registered users.</p>
