Steam’s Summer Sale may be over for another year but statistics released by Valve has shown that it was a bug success. On Sunday June 29 the service reached 8 million concurrent users for the first time in it’s history. Valve have also revealed the top 10 games being played on Steam and their peak user count. They are:
- Dota 2 – 775,279
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – 163,421
- Team Fortress 2 – 78,227
- Civilization V – 73,866
- Football Manager 2014 – 71,083
- Garry’s Mod – 64,383
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – 64,281
- Payday 2 – 63,814
- Borderlands 2 – 34,020
- Counter-Strike – 31,730
Its not surprising that Dota 2 is on top. Not only is the game free to play but the Dota 2 championships, known as The International, are also coming up.
Overall Steam has 75 million registered users.
