Steep: Road to the Olympics Integrates Olympians in Expansion’s Story

Ubisoft has announced that they will be releasing a new expansion for their action-sports game, Steep, titled Steep: Road to the Olympics. It is an officially licensed product of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and will feature a story mode that brings lets players explore the South Korean mountains where the game will be held. It will be released on December 5th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. There’s a gameplay video from the Ubiblog that is available to watch below.

The story mode will have players experience what it’s like to be a young athlete as they train for three different freestyle events – Big Air, Half Pipe, and Slopestyle. The objective is to not only reach the Olympic Winter Games, but also place gold in all three disciplines, making you the first athlete to ever accomplish the feat. Each challenge will also feature video testimonials from ten real-life legends and rising stars as they provide training tips and hints at what to expect from the events and competition within Steep: Road to the Olympics. You can check out a video of some of the Olympians talking, below.

This is honestly a pretty neat thing to include and might end up being one of the better licensed Olympic games because it already has the base game of Steep to work from. For those who haven’t picked up the winter sports title yet, there will be a Steep Winter Games Edition being released alongside the expansion and will include both the expansion and the base game. So you’ll be able to shred the slopes of the South Korean mountains before the Olympics happen in February.
