To bring an end to the 25th anniversary of Street Fighter and to begin celebration of the 25th anniversary of Mega Man, Capcom has announced that they will help release a fan made game titled Street Fighter X Mega Man. The game is going to be a classic 8-bit mash-up of the two popular franchises.
Created by Seow “Sonic” Zong Hui (who is a mighty good Dhalsim fighter), featuring a soundtrack created by Luke Esquivel (A_Rival), and being backed by Capcom just shows that Street Fighter X Mega Man is a collaboration between fans and company. Accompanying the announcement is this reveal trailer:
Classic 8-bit gameplay, Street Fighter themed levels, and a soundtrack the mixes classic Mega Man and Street Fighter tunes together shows how much dedication has been put into this title. Street Fighter X Mega Man is being released this December 17 for PC, and the game will be available for free via Capcom-Unity.com.
