Developer Rocksteady Studios and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. And it will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2022.
Warner Bros. describes the game as a new genre-bending action-adventure shooter. They also stated it will have co-op support for up to 4 people online, or you can play it solo. Furthermore, the game combines Rocksteady’s signature character-driven story gameplay with third-person shooter action.
The game is set in an open world Metropolis, with an original narrative set in the DC universe. The story follows Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. Their mission is to save Earth from The Justice League and killing them.
The super-villains have been restrained with lethal explosives implanted in their skulls. So in an Escape From New York influenced turn of events, they have to band together by lack of any other choice. They are now part of Amanda Waller’s infamous Task Force X.
A Co-op Adventure
Up to 4 players can enjoy the adventure together. Each character has different movesets, weapons, and skills to master. Play as Harley Quinn, the mistress of Mayhem; Deadshot, the most dangerous marksman in the world; Captain Boomerang, the Aussie assassin; and King Shark, the demigod humanoid shark.
Players can switch between the different characters, making it possible to play as all four in single-player. So getting a feel for your favorite Suicide Squad member should be fairly easy.
“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League showcases Rocksteady Studios’ ability to combine masterful storytelling and compelling gameplay based on well-known DC characters. The team is creating a genre-defining experience that brings the formidable Suicide Squad to life in a way that has never been done before.” – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president David Haddad
It’s rather interesting to see Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad launching so close together. Both are co-op open-world games. And while both have differences, one focuses on heroes while the other focuses on villains. They have also stated that Suicide Squad will be a continuation of the Arkham games.
Which will you choose? Let us know in the comments!
