New Sunset Overdrive Trailer Shows Off The Amps System

<p>Insomniac Games  have released a new 4 minute long video for their first next gen title&comma; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;insomniac-announces-sunset-overdrive-for-xbox-one&sol;">Sunset Overdrive<&sol;a>&period; The trailer guides us through the game&&num;8217&semi;s various features such as the high velocity traversal and the Amps system&period; Announced with a CGI teaser at E3 2013&comma; Sunset Overdrive will be published by Microsoft and is the first Insomniac title that won&&num;8217&semi;t be coming to a Sony console&period;  Following months of silence we at last have gameplay footage to analyse and it looks really <em>really<&sol;em> good&period; This Xbox One exclusive is an open world third person shooter that oozes charm and creativity&period; As Insomniac themselves admit&comma; it&&num;8217&semi;s a game which plays to their strengths with colourful characters&comma; a crazy assortment of weapons and lots of humour&period; Taking place in the year 2027&comma; the world as fallen into chaos after an evil corporation called FizzCo caused a mutant outbreak with a new energy drink &lpar;how exactly that&&num;8217&semi;s supposed to work I don&&num;8217&semi;t know but it&&num;8217&semi;s best just to go along with it&rpar;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A major focus of the game is character customisation&comma; which is where the Amps system comes in&period;  Amps are the games version of power ups&period; They can be mixed and matched to suit your own fighting style and can be activated either through traversal or combat&period; For example&comma; the Air Dash grants your character more manoeuvrability whilst Twist of Fate give all your weapons the chance to cause a mini nuclear explosion&period; From summoning tornadoes with melee weapons to shooting out fireballs every time you grind on rails&semi; there&&num;8217&semi;s plenty of fun to be had with over 50 different Amps to choose from&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>We&&num;8217&semi;ve only seen a small slice of what Sunset Overdrive has to offer and already it&&num;8217&semi;s looking like a very important game for Microsoft&period; Insomniac has promised that we&&num;8217&semi;ll be seeing a lot more of the game in the run up to its launch in the second half of this year&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;polygon&period;com&sol;2014&sol;5&sol;8&sol;5695682&sol;sunset-overdrive-video-trailer-gameplay-xbox-one">Polygon<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
