Super Smash Bros 3DS Tournaments Announced Nationwide

Super Smash Bros. on 3DS is out on Oct. 3rd. Just one day later, Nintendo and GameStop will be hosting tournaments at 15 locations plus the Nintendo World Store in New York City.

The 64-player tournaments are first-come, first-served and you don’t need to pre-register. You can bring your own system and game, but if you don’t want to (or don’t have access), the necessary hardware will be provided for you.

Winners at each of the locations will go onto win an all expenses (including travel and hotel accommodations for two) paid trip to New York City to compete in the Super Smash Bros. National Open Tournament on Oct. 11th in New York City. The winners in question will also receive a 3DS XL, a copy of the game, and a $250 Visa Gift Card.

If you’re also in the Big Apple, you can also purchase the game early. A meet-up and early purchase opportunity is taking place at the Nintendo World Store on Oct. 2nd at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Local tournaments will take place at the following locations, beginning at 11 a.m. local time:
