We already knew that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS would be releasing in 2014, but we didn’t have an exact date. Now, though, we have a little more to go on and may be able to narrow down the release to Spring 2014.
In an interview with Neckar-Chronik, Nintendo’s German General Manager Bernd Fakesch may have let slip the Spring 2014 release window when responding to a question about the Wii U’s success versus its predecessor.
“At Christmas we now want to inspire with titles like Wii Party U, Wii Sports Club, Wii Fit U and of course Super Mario 3D World, the classic Nintendo Family for the new console. For next spring two more big license games are also announced for our TV console with Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros.”
So that accounts for the Wii U version of the game, but what about the 3DS? For right now, we’ve no idea. All we can do is keep waiting for Super Smash Bros. to release sometime next year.
