<p>Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced that the fourth console installment for <em>Sword Art Online&#8217;</em>s game series is heading to PS4 and Vita systems next year.</p>
<p>According to the press release, &#8220;players enter a new VRMMORPG world called “Sword Art: Origin”, which was created on the game’s original servers, setting the stage for new heart-pounding quests through a dangerous virtual world.&#8221; The game will also have players take the role of Kirito, the series protagonist in this new story written by <em>Sword Art Online</em> writer Reki Kawahara.</p>
<p><em>Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment</em> and<em> Sword Art Online Lost Song</em> previously released this year on PS4. <em>Lost Song</em> came to Vita as well. The Vice President of Marketing for Bandai Namco Entertainment America states that, “The <em>Sword Art Online</em> franchise has experienced incredible growth in popularity on a global level with light-novel and anime fans. We are excited to bring <em>Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization</em>, the next <em>Sword Art Online</em> game, to fans in the Americas.”</p>
<p><em>Sword Art Online Hollow Realization</em> is releasing in North American and European territories in 2016 for PS4 and Vita.</p>
