Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization Extended Trailer Posted

Bandai Namco Entertainment America has revealed an extended trailer for Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization that talks about the multiplayer aspect and reveals new characters in the storyline.

The battle system allows for 8 players to create a party: four human players and four AI characters. Customize your avatar and make them look and fight according to your own style. There are a variety of weapons to choose from that not only look amazing but are also effective against enemy monsters. Two new characters, Philia and Strea, will have roles in the story which takes place in a virtual world of Ainground.

Kirito voices concern in the Hollow Realization trailer when he says “[t]his virtual world was made for people, but it didn’t want people there…”. There is someone – or rather, something that wants to get rid of the human players and its been hinted that it is the emotionless NPC Premiere. She suddenly appears and acts unlike the other NPCs. Speaking of the NPCs of Hollow Realization, they tend to not respawn after dying in battle which raises the question of Kirito and his companions that they too may actually die in real life if they die in the game.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will be released in North America and Europe in 2017 on the PS4 and Vita.
