Liam Neeson’s Bryan Mills just can’t catch a break. First his daughter was kidnapped and then his wife. Now, in Taken 3 or Tak3n, Mills has to track down something taken from him that’s much more trickier to find: his innocence. His ex-wife murdered, Mills is framed for the crime and is now on the run from the FBI. Sound familiar? Yeah, it’s pretty much The Fugitive. Still, it’s The Fugitive with Liam Neeson and Forest Whitaker pursuing him. That’s not a guarantee of quality, but enough to get me watching. Olivier Megaton (Taken 2) will return to direct while Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen will be scripting again as well.
Liam Neeson returns as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered. Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.
Tak3n will be in theaters on January 9, 2015.
