Tales of Berseria Announced For PS4 and PC

Tales of Berseria is coming to the West for both PlayStation 4 and PC. In an announcement posted this morning on The Official Tales Of Blog, a written piece and a trailer provided by Bandai Namco Entertainment detail the story in the next entry in the Tales of series.

Tales of Berseria features a female lead named Velvet. Velvet is described as the first female solo main character in a Tales of game, so it seems that there will be no choice between primary characters to play, as in Tales of Xillia‘s multi-story arc with Milla and Jude.

Exposed to traumatic experiences three years before the events in Berseria, Velvet’s “festering anger and hatred” leaves her with a powerful beastlike left-arm. The trailer shows her using her special abilities to take out enemies with powerful swipes using this arm.

She is joined by Laphicet, a young boy, who will act as a foil character to Velvet. While Velvet is defined by “Shadow,” Laphicet is the embodiment of “Light”.

Tales of Berseria is the second entry in the series that is playable on the PlayStation 4, next to Tales of Zesteria, and the first in the series to be playable exclusively on Sony’s current-generation hardware.
