Telltale’s Batman Game Premieres This Summer

During a panel at SXSW today, developer Telltale Games released new information regarding their upcoming game, entitled Batman: A Telltale Game Series. The game, which will be released episodically and maintain the same choice-driven gameplay as their previous projects, has a rough release window of summer 2016 for the first episode.

The panel went on to discuss the primary focus and concept of the game. The company’s site shared a follow-up blog post with more information. The company had this to say regarding the concept:

Batman is the perfect character for the studio to explore in a Telltale series, giving the team the opportunity to dive deeper into the mind of the man behind the mask. Each night, Bruce Wayne chooses to change Gotham for the better. The team wants to explore what the consequences are of the player’s actions when decisions made as Bruce have a critical impact on his nightly crusade as Batman, and vice versa. Certain key situations will give the player the decision to approach a scene as Bruce or Batman, with consequences for both sides.

Additional information was provided, including that the game would be set in current times without any ties to other Batman lore; that the game would feature a strong comic book art style; and the game would be rated M for Mature.
