Terraria was released earlier this month digitally for the Nintendo Wii U, but those who were awaiting a physical copy of the game no longer have to wait. 505 Games have announced that the popular sandbox game is available at retailers across North America for $29.99, including GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and more.

There are several reasons to be excited for the Wii U release of Terraria, including some of its Wii U-specific functionality. The gamepad allows for an easy-to-use touch-based experience that will make crafting and exploring worlds far easier than before. The game supports local co-op with up to four players and online multiplayer with up to eight players. With the Wii U version, players can also post their achievements that they receive during the game onto the Miiverse leaderboards for bragging rights or their own satisfaction.

Coming to the Wii U is a big deal for Terraria as its gamepad does offer a much more intuitive way to experience the game. 505 Games has been updating Terraria for each platform so that it utilizes its key features, and the Wii U is no exception. It has already sold over 18 million copies across all platforms, so this is just another way to get into the game if you haven’t already picked it up.
