The latest Earth Defence Force title, EDF 2025 (or EDF 4 as it is known in Japan), is being released on the PS4 as Earth Defence Force 4.1 : The Shadow of New Despair. As well as bringing the game to a new platform, this update also adds new content. Players will now be able to take control of huge mechs and take on giant monsters Pacific Rim style. The Guillermo del Toro directed film did get a tie in video game but it failed to live up to the potential of its premise. Let’s hope that Sandlot can do a better job.
Earth Defence Force 4.1 is due out next year in Japan. A western release has not yet been confirmed.
