Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima’s kept us waiting for more than two years for a Metal Gear Solid V date, but according to reports out of the Tokyo Gameshow, the months of hijinks and distractions may be coming to an end.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, will indeed release in 2015 as fans have surmised, but not anytime more specific than that. Judging from the wealth of footage shown off both at this year’s E3, Gamescom, and even the Toyko Gameshow itself thus far, fans would certainly hope it’s sooner rather than later.
The game will also be releasing for both current and last-generation game systems, including Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360, though it’s been speculated whether the latter two will receive the game simultaneously. MGS V will nevertheless include, as far as we know, the same content across all platforms as it stands.
Konami has also made mention of a new “buddy” system for MGS V, involving such members as Quiet being able to accompany Big Boss on missions, providing cover fire and stealth takedowns to expand the range of your abilities on the battlefield.
The convention has also teased the announcement of another Metal Gear Solid collection on the horizon in the previous days. We’ll have more details are they’re presented to us.
As the clock ticks on The Phantom Pain‘s arrival, tell us: Are you still onboard with Big Boss, even after such a long time?
