NIS America and developers Nihon Falcom has released the opening cinematic to their upcoming English language release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak, originally released exclusively in Japan on the PlayStation 4 in 2021 and on the PlayStation 5 a year later, the game is finally releasing world wide.
Taking place in the aftermath of a war, the Calvard Republic is reveling in an unprecedented economic prosperity. However, the people becomes concerned with the growing number of immigrants and the evolving questionable political reform begins to run rampant. Players will follow the main protagonist Van Arkride as a Spriggan, a bounty hunting detective, as young woman dressed in the uniform of an esteemed academy approaches him with a request that could change the fate of the entire nation.
As of this writing The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak sits at ‘very positive’ review on Steam, the game saw a launch on PC in March 2023, the RPG will see another PC release on July 5th 2024 along with The Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4/5, there’s no news on a possible Xbox version.
A demo for the game is planned for release on June 4th, the demo will be available on Nintendo Switch and PS4/5, players saved data from the demo will transfer over to the full version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak upon release.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak will have limited and deluxe editions for purchase, the Deluxe Edition will be $59.99 on Switch and PlayStation 4/5 which will include the game, a code for a Digital Soundtrack and a Mini Art Book. The Limited Edition is available exclusively on the NIS America Online Store and will be $99.99, this version includes the aforementioned extras in the Deluxe Edition but also adds a 240+ Page Art Book, a 1-disc Digipak Soundtrack, a steel-book case, an “Arkride Solutions” Business Card Case, the “Calvardian Cinema” Movie Poster Art Card Set and an Collector’s Box with “Oct-Genesis” Outer Sleeve.
