Spiders Studio released Bound by Flame last year which was set in a much more traditional RPG setting, but their next release, The Technomancer, looks to be anything but traditional. The company has released a new trailer that showcases the variety of life found in its new setting – Mars. You can view the trailer below to get a better look at the upcoming RPG’s setting.
The Technomancer takes place extremely far in the future where Mars has been colonized and now become a dystopian wasteland filled with vile creatures, corrupt individuals, and the Technomancers – people who use electrical powers that are enhanced by their cybernetic implants. This is just the basis of the plot for the game, which follows an aspiring Technomancer as he wrestles with his past to try and save his future.
The trailer above demonstrates just how desolate the landscapes on Mars have become, with it reflecting a very collapsed endpoint of civilization. Shantytowns, deserted strips of wasteland, and cities littered with corrupt government officials and police are what make The Technomancer the unique science fiction RPG that it looks to be, which makes it pretty exciting to see if the team at Spiders studio can create an ambitious world like this with interesting gameplay.
The Technomancer will be released in 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
