The Twitch Hot Tub Category Becomes Otterly Adorable

A stream of rescued sea otters has captured the hearts of those following Twitch's new Hot Tub category

Twitch Sea Otter

Hot tub streamers have become somewhat of a trend on Twitch, and not everyone is completely on board with it. If you’re curious, hot tub streamers are people who stream while in a hot tub, swimwear, and all. Twitch’s solution to the controversial problem has been to put these streamers in their own category.

However, a channel that recently popped up under this category has gotten some attention for featuring something you wouldn’t expect on Twitch. An animal rescue center has decided to put up a stream of their rescued sea otters. The stream broadcasts all their activities, be it playing, sleeping, or eating, and it couldn’t be more adorable.

The rescue center in question is the Marine Mammal Rescue Center in Vancouver. They decided to put up a channel of their sea otter pool, which is streaming for all ages under the Travel & Outdoors stream. They’ve declared it the “Number One Cold Tub stream”, cheekily putting it in the new Hot Tub category. While it’s technically not a hot tub, it still counts as a pool.

Popular Otters

The stream already had over 1000 viewers on Twitch, which is a hecking lot for a bunch of otters in a “hot tub”. The channel has a lot of old archived streams dedicated to these adorable critters. Each stream lasts around 48 hours though, so whether you wanna sit through all those streams for that long is of course up to you.

There is something incredibly relaxing about watching these otterly adorable creatures play with each other. Though I doubt you can buy any otter bath tub water.

Do you agree these otters deserve the attention? Do you have recommendations for similar channels? Let us know what you think of this “cold tub” stream in the comments!
