The Wii U eShop Has Over 50 Unity Titles In Development For It

<p>At <a class&equals;"zem&lowbar;slink" title&equals;"Game Developers Conference" href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;gdconf&period;com&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"homepage">GDC<&sol;a> Nintendo revealed that there are currently more than 50 titles in development for the Wii U <a class&equals;"zem&lowbar;slink" title&equals;"Nintendo eShop" href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;en&period;wikipedia&period;org&sol;wiki&sol;Nintendo&lowbar;eShop" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"wikipedia">eShop<&sol;a> that use the <a class&equals;"zem&lowbar;slink" title&equals;"Unity &lpar;game engine&rpar;" href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;en&period;wikipedia&period;org&sol;wiki&sol;Unity&lowbar;&percnt;28game&lowbar;engine&percnt;29" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"wikipedia">Unity engine<&sol;a>&period; Nintendo announced a partnership with Unity Technology back in 2012 in order to make the Wii U a more attractive platform to developers&comma; particularly smaller ones&period; &&num;8221&semi;There are over a million Unity developers&comma; including many in developing countries where the business of dedicated gaming machines is not prosperous&comma;” said Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata last year&period; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We would like to create opportunities for these developers to have their games available for Wii U&period;” This seems to have worked as whilst the Wii U is being abandoned by almost all the big third parties&comma; its eShop has quite a nice line up of cheap&comma; innovative games&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>At this year&&num;8217&semi;s GDC Nintendo hosted a special booth aimed entirely at indie developers&period; On display were 9 different Unity games that will launch on the Wii U in the coming months&period; These games were&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<ul>&NewLine;<li>Armillo<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Ballpoint Universe&colon; Infinite<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Cubemen 2<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Ittle Dew<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Monkey Pirates<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Nihilumbra<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Stick It to the Man<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Teslagrad<&sol;li>&NewLine;<li>Wooden Sen’SeY<&sol;li>&NewLine;<&sol;ul>&NewLine;<p>Speaking to <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;siliconera&period;com&sol;2014&sol;03&sol;21&sol;50-games-using-unity-pipeline-wii-u-says-nintendo&sol;&num;vW0HydWV8gVIQLdL&period;99">Siliconera<&sol;a>&comma; Nintendo of America&&num;8217&semi;s Senior Manager of Marketing&comma; Damon Baker&comma; said that &&num;8221&semi;over the course of this show&comma; we have nine games on display&period;  We have 17 that are currently in the pipeline&comma; that have been submitted&period; So they will all be out within the next two months&period; And then&comma; we have another fifty that are waiting in the wings&comma; that are coming&semi; so we’ve got a lot of Unity content on the way&period;” The company also revealed that they are working to get Unity for the 3DS and showed off the  Nintendo Web Framework&comma; another engine designed to attract more developers to the platform&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;siliconera&period;com&sol;2014&sol;03&sol;21&sol;50-games-using-unity-pipeline-wii-u-says-nintendo&sol;&num;vW0HydWV8gVIQLdL&period;99">Siliconera<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
