The Witcher 3 Writers Working On Dying Light 2

(The Bloody Baron, The Witcher 3 - CD Projekt RED)

The Witcher 3 is one of the very few open-world games in recent memory that had masterful writing. Even with the core game, everything has some emotional resonance. A prime example of this is the Bloody Baron story-line, a quest-line that many Witcher players will remember. So it’s no wonder why the writing team behind the Bloody Baron have been called into work on Dying Light 2.

Developer Admiration

The news comes straight from E3, courtesy of VG247. In an interview, the Dying Light 2 developers spoke about needing some help with the storyline; they ended up calling in designer Chris Avellone. However, he wasn’t the only heavy-hitter they brought in. Speaking to VG247, the developers said that he admired Mr. Avellone. Furthermore, they spoke of their admiration for CD Projekt RED’s writing team. In their words:

This is very ambitious, so we knew we needed some help. So we asked Chris Avellone, the master of non-linear storytelling to help us with this challenge. We also got some additional help in the form of the former The Witcher 3 writing team. Those guys were responsible for some of the best quests from that game including the Bloody Baron quest line. All of those guys are working very hard to create a narrative – it’s like a puzzle to play with.

However, it’s currently unclear as to what exactly they’ll be working on, story-line wise. However, more details should be released further on down the line. If The Witcher 3‘s Bloody Baron quest-line is anything to go by, Dying Light 2’s story should be amazing. The developers also spoke about choices in the narrative, saying:

As you play the game you will make many difficult dilemmas and you will make difficult choices by gameplay, by dialogue, by exploration. The choices you make will transform the world around you.
