Thirsty Thursday Culture Cocktail – March 16, 2017

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo

Welcome to this week’s Thirsty Thursday Culture Cocktail!

We missed you guys two weeks ago! We were so busy playing games that we didn’t even get a chance to talk about it! We were no doubt busy thinking about picking up our Nintendo Switches and dreaming about the dozens of hours we knew we were about to put into Breath of the Wild. PAX East has come and gone and our staff writer Corey Atwood made sure to catch all the latest and greatest for you all to see. We were finally able to pull our selves away from Zelda long enough to let you know what we’re all drinking this week! (Also, I lied. My Switch is literally in kickstand mode right next to my computer.)

Final Fantasy XV, Square Enix

Insomnia Remedy Shake

5 oz Sleep Deprivation (if there’s more then adjust other ingredients accordingly)

10 oz Final Fantasy XV (to ease stress about not sleeping)

A single glass of warm milk (or any other warm beverage that you like)

Finish off with a relaxing movie, whether it’s comedy, romance, or whatever you like (just no horror).

Serve on a comfy couch, bed, or other suitable sleeping arrangement.

Can’t sleep? Feeling insomnia tickle your face? Well, try this simple cocktail. Start by playing a bit of Final Fantasy XV, killing enemies after escaping from the city of Insomnia (get it? See what I did there?) can be very relaxing. As you play, sip on something warm … something relaxing and calming. Hot chocolate, warm milk … it doesn’t matter. When you’re feeling a bit more sleepy, put Final Fantasy XV down and replace it with a feel-good movie of your choice. If you use this ingredient with the last ingredient, you might fall asleep in the middle. That’s okay though. Add in any other useful relaxation methods as needed.

The People vs. O.J. Simpson, FX

The Ol’ Wait & Switch

40 oz excitement

20 oz Rocket League

20 oz The People vs. O.J. Simpson

10 gallons disappointment

With the Nintendo Switch finally out, all I can do is play it and think about playing it. After so much anticipation and waiting so long, it’s finally here and I just can’t believe it. Once you’re done freaking out over the Switch, watch a great TV show. I personally recommend The People vs. O.J. Simpson on Netflix. Don’t forget to play Rocket League!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo

High Noon in Hyrule

10 oz The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

10 oz Super Bomberman R

10 oz 1-2 Switch

A splash of A Tribe Called Quest

5 oz Fast RMX

Oh my gosh. I can already tell you that you don’t want to get me started on talking about the Nintendo Switch. I’m so happy it’s finally here. I’ve been working hard to crank out reviews as quickly as possible for you all and I’m not slowing down yet! I’ve already reviewed Breath of the Wild and Super Bomberman R but that doesn’t mean I’m going to quit playing them! I absolutely can not stop playing Zelda. It’s incredible. My Wife and I are having an absolute blast (heh) Bomberman. It’s the perfect game to just pick up and play for a few minutes here and there. We’re also playing through plenty of 1-2 Switch (Face each other!) not only for fun but also in preparation for my review (stay tuned!). I’ve also been getting my F-Zero fix while working on my review for Fast RMX. As for A Tribe Called Quest? There’s no way I could get through what’s happening politically without some of their good, good jams.

We love checking out new games, movies, TV shows, and more so feel free to share your recipes in the comments below. You can also reach out to us on Twitter at @BagoGames!
