This is When Splatoon’s Getting Demoed This Weekend

Nintendo’s competitive shoot ’em up, Splatoon, just splattered its first demo all over the Wii U eShop and you’ll have to wake up pretty early for the rest of them this weekend.

As a part of the game’s “Global Testfire” online beta, the game’s three one-hour demo blocks are spread out across several time zones, though you’re free to play in any or all of them. The first’s live and kicking right now (8 pm – 11pm US Pacific Time) and will continue at 4 am Saturday British Standard Time. A 4 am Saturday US Pacific Time/noon Saturday BST will follow with a the final one at noon Saturday PT/8 pm BST.

The Global Testfire will be limited to Splatoon‘s 4-on-4 online Turf War mode. You might even be up against Nintendo’s lab coat-clad “Squid Research Lab” representatives as streamed on Nintendo’s Twitch account.

Even if you can’t hop online for any of those play windows, Brits who download the demo will receive a 10 percent discount on the full game’s eShop version when it releases on May 29th, valid through June 4thSplatoon’s full game launches in Japan May 28th and the rest of the world the next day.
