This Week in Games: Sonic Has The Need for Speed

<p>Welcome to another week of video game releases&period; Last week saw very few noteworthy releases&comma; and this week is pretty slim too&comma; but there&&num;8217&semi;s still plenty to talk about from cars that go fast to hedgehogs that go fast to space marines that go fast&period; But don&&num;8217&semi;t scroll fast through this list of new releases&excl;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The biggest release of this week for me is <em>Need for Speed Payback<&sol;em> from Ghost Games&period; This is their third crack at the <em>Need for Speed <&sol;em>franchise since breaking off from Criterion and forming their own studio&comma; and seems like the most ambitious yet&period; While it ditches last year&&num;8217&semi;s FMV&comma; <em>Need for Speed <&sol;em><em>Payback <&sol;em>goes for a <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;need-speed-payback-story-trailer-doubles-gambling-wordplay&sol;">story-focused campaign<&sol;a> that looks a lot like it&&num;8217&semi;s cashing in on <em>The Fast and the Furious <&sol;em>franchise of films&comma; which might be the smartest decision ever made for the <em>Need for Speed <&sol;em>franchise&period; The two should hopefully go together like peanut butter and jelly&period; You can race against The House on PS4&comma; Sega&rpar;<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p>Finally&comma; after a long time&comma; Sonic is back with <em>Sonic<&sol;em> <em>Forces<&sol;em> which brings the hedgehog to PS4&comma; Xbox One&comma; Nintendo Switch&comma; and PC&period; You can <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;sonic-forces-introduces-new-customizable-hero&sol;">create your own character<&sol;a> to join along in this adventure as Sonic leads a rebellion against Doctor Eggman&period; The world has been taken over by him and its up to you to help stop him from complete world domination&period; Sonic fans will probably enjoy themselves with <em>Sonic Forces <&sol;em>but personally&comma; I&&num;8217&semi;m still in the anti-Sonic camp&comma; so don&&num;8217&semi;t ask me whether I&&num;8217&semi;ll be picking up the game when it comes out on November 7th&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Nintendo Switch fans who want to stop the world from being taken over&comma; but with more blood and guts&comma; can rejoice with the release of <em>Doom <&sol;em>on the platform&period; This might be the most M-rated game that Nintendo has received in a while&period; Switch fans will have the chance to enjoy one of the best games from 2016&comma; and I&&num;8217&semi;m personally just so excited to see games like this making their way to the Switch platform&period; Get ready to glory kill some demons on November 10th&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;131459" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-131459" style&equals;"width&colon; Telltale Games&rpar;<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p>As for smaller releases&comma; <em>The Sims 4 <&sol;em>players can get their hands on the <em>Cats &amp&semi; Dogs <&sol;em>expansion on November 10th for PC and Mac users&period; <em>Hitman <&sol;em>is <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;hitman-getting-goty-edition-new-campaign&sol;">getting the Game of the Year treatment<&sol;a> on November 7th with <em>Hitman &&num;8211&semi; Game of the Year Edition<&sol;em>&comma; including an option to upgrade from the first season to the GOTY edition for a small fee&period; Those playing Telltale Games&&num;8217&semi; <em>Guardians of the Galaxy <&sol;em>can finish the season on November 7th&period; PlayStation VR users can get a friend to play against them in <em>League of War&colon; VR Arena<&sol;em>&comma; which releases on November 7th&period; And finally&comma; <em>Hand of Fate 2 <&sol;em>will be released on PS4&comma; Xbox One&comma; PC&comma; and Mac on November 7th for those who need their action RPG fix&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>That&&num;8217&semi;s it for this week&excl; Next week&comma; get ready for some <em>Star Wars <&sol;em>and <em>Marvel <&sol;em>properties to return&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
