Titanfall Developer Now Working On Star Wars Game

The developers of the popular first person shooter, Titanfall, have announced that their next project is going to be a third person action/adventure game based on the Star Wars property.

No other details have been given about the project, but Stig from the Respawn Entertainment development team shared how the team feels about the beloved IP.

He says in his open letter, “The entire company erupted in cheers when it was announced that this would be our next endeavor.

But it’s not all fun and games — we promise to pay respect to the Star Wars legacy at all times, a fact that will be constantly reinforced and honored as a central game design tenet.  Fans should expect the exemplary level of quality first established at Respawn with Titanfall, a game that epitomizes our studio’s dedication to slick, larger-than-life action and fun, groundbreaking mechanics.”

No expected announcement date has been given for this new project, but they are currently looking for applicants to fill in positions at the company.

Another Star Wars game that is in development over at EA is from Visceral Games, who have Uncharted writer and director Amy Hennig on board.  Perhaps we’ll hear more at E3.

Star Wars Battlefront can currently be played for free for 4 hours on PC for May The Fourth. Players can obtain 4,444 credits when logging in for today. In addition, Knights of the Fallen Empire  is now free to play until May 30th for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
