A new video series for Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider began today. In episode one, we’re introduced to the game’s Base Camp, where Lara will do most of her skill upgrading, fast traveling and gear upgrades. Lara will receive experience by completing certain actions or completing missions, and when she has acquired enough skill points, she can put them towards her exploration, combat or resourcefulness.
The video uses Lara’s Climbing Axe and Bow & Arrow weapons to better explain how upgrading works, and later delves into her Survival Instinct (Detective Mode/Eagle Vision) with regards to solving the game’s puzzles.
The next episode of the series aims to go into how Lara can use her skills and other tools in order to get around the area, though when that video is set to appear is unknown (tomorrow? next Monday?).
Tomb Raider is set to release on March 5th, 2013.
