Tomb Raider Sequel Confirmed for Next-Gen

<p>A new <em>Tomb Raider<&sol;em> title is currently in development for next-gen systems&comma; Square Enix has revealed&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In a <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;eu&period;square-enix&period;com&sol;en&sol;blog&sol;note-phil-rogers-ceo">note posted on the Square Enix Europe Blog<&sol;a>&comma; CEO Phil Rogers spoke about some changes coming to the company and reminded people of a couple of big titles that are being worked on&period; One of which is a sequel to Lara Croft&&num;8217&semi;s most recent adventure&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;I can categorically say that we’re not abandoning core&comma; triple-A console and PC games&comma;&&num;8221&semi; said Rogers&period; &&num;8220&semi;We’re working hard at improving how we develop our games and how we release them&comma; and I want to explain that in a little more detail&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;Square Enix is in production with a number of next generation projects&comma; including <em>Final Fantasy XV<&sol;em> and <em>Kingdom Hearts III<&sol;em>&comma; which were announced at this year’s E3&comma; and Thief coming in 2014&period; I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation <em>Tomb Raider<&sol;em> sequel – something you may have heard about recently&excl;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Tomb Raider<&sol;em> was well received by many&comma; but didn&&num;8217&semi;t meet Square Enix&&num;8217&semi;s expectations&comma; so to be told that a sequel is in development is a really good thing to hear&period; <em>Tomb Raider<&sol;em> was great&comma; and now that Lara knows what she&&num;8217&semi;s doing&comma; I can&&num;8217&semi;t wait to see what she&&num;8217&semi;ll get into on next-gen platforms&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
