Crystal Dynamics announced last week during a Game Developers Conference panel that the new Tomb Raider title had set a new record for the franchise.

The game itself logged more than one million players within its first two days on sale and has managed to sell 3.4 million units since being made available.

Taking the 3.4 million units into consideration then, it should be easy for its developers to be deemed “successful” after Billy Pidgeon, an analyst, stated that he believed the game needed to sell five million copies to be deemed just that.

Have you entered the new Tomb Raider world as of yet? What did you think?
